Apply for Primary School Places

Bristol City Council are reminding parents and carers of children
due to start school in September 2012 are being reminded that the deadline for applications is 15 January.

Children born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008 can start school in September 2012.

Bristol City Council admissions team is encouraging parents and
carers to apply for a school place online via the council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/page/primary-admissions

Bristol City Council has sent us a survey, which can be downloaded as a word document here. Due to the government cuts youth services are going to be cut by 50% and the council wants to know how people think the remaining budget should be spent.

It is really important that you send back your thoughts so that the bid for young people’s services for this area reflects what the young people and residents want.


Young people can get £300 for your project

O2 have recently created an initiative to get young people involved in creating community projects and giving them £300 to get started.

The Think Big initiative is for people aged 13 to 25 in the UK who are looking to run community based projects where funding for up to £300 can be applied for and you will also receive a day’s training.

All kinds of projects have been set up and backed by the initiative already, based around many find out more here

The classes will feed into a Christmas performance on Sunday 11th December, as a curtain raiser for ‘Pangottic’, a professional circus-theatre company that will be performing their show ‘Full Twist’.

Petition the Government to fund more school places

A PETITION has been launched by parents to help Bristol City Council persuade the Government to hand over more money to provide new primary schools.

Bristol has one of the fastest-growing child populations outside London and needs to provide at least 3,000 extra school places by 2014.
